Accessibility & inclusive innovation for beauty

Ingressible

Ingress
the act or right of entering.
-ible
capable of; able to.

The right to access. The capability to participate. The opportunity to belong.

Ingressible helps beauty and fragrance businesses bring their vision to more people. We begin with what you want customers to do, understand and feel, then assess the website, shopping or product experience for accessibility barriers that may leave disabled customers and others out. You receive clear findings and practical, easy-to-implement recommendations that respect your brand’s identity.

Preserve the Vision. Expand the Experience.

The right to access. The capability to participate. The opportunity to belong. The open doorway represents a way in. The star and surrounding arc connect that entrance with participation and belonging: the purpose behind Ingressible’s name.

The door is only the beginning

Technically, you got in.
But were you really included?

A person can enter a space, reach a product, or access a website and still discover that what comes next was not created with them in mind.

  1. The right to access.

Can I find a way in?

You have reached the website or entered the store. Can you find the fragrance or makeup you came for, reach the display and access the information you need? Access follows your real journey from the entrance to the intended item, through search, signs, product labels and the paths between them.

In the illustration: The open doorway, phone and bottle represent three ways into an experience: entering a place, reaching a website and finding a product.

  2. The capability to participate.

Can I do what I came to do?

You have found the product. Can you compare shades or scents, open the tester, use the bottle or applicator, and complete your purchase? Capability examines each step and how it works with different ways of seeing, understanding, moving and interacting. You should be able to participate with choice and control.

In the illustration: The computer, hands and open package represent taking part: completing a digital task and opening or using a physical product.

  3. The opportunity to belong.

    Was someone like me considered?

Throughout the journey, do you feel welcome and considered? Are information, sampling and help available in ways that respect your needs and choices? Belonging means having room to experience the brand as yourself, with dignity, without having to hide a need or give up what you came for.

In the illustration: The people and conversation symbol represent being listened to, having a choice and feeling welcome within a brand’s community.

Together, these illustrations explain how inclusion extends from reaching an experience, to taking part, to feeling considered. Opening the door is only the beginning. These are principles we investigate; the illustrations do not show measured client results.

Getting through the door is only the beginning. What happens next determines whether someone can meaningfully participate.

The opportunity beyond the barrier

Who wants to experience your brand,
but cannot fully take part?

A beautiful experience can still leave people out. Research gives us a reason to look closer. Your customers and products tell us where to begin.

The bars show two separate answers from the 2019 UK Click-Away Pound survey: 69% of respondents with access needs said they leave websites with barriers, and 83% limited their shopping to websites they knew were barrier-free. Each bar uses a 0, 100% scale; the figures do not add to one total. The finding explains why removing barriers can matter to a shopping journey, but does not predict a brand’s revenue. Why work with Ingressible

Your vision is the starting point.
Evidence shapes the next step.

We begin with your mission and what customers should be able to do, understand and feel. Together we agree the goals, then assess accessibility strengths and potential barriers across the website, store or product experience.

One brand. Many moments of participation.

  1. DiscoverFind the product
  2. UnderstandGet useful information
  3. SampleExplore with choice
  4. PurchaseComplete checkout
  5. UseOpen, handle, apply
From left to right, the search, book, sample, shopping bag and hand symbols show five moments: discovering a product, understanding its information, trying it, purchasing it and using it. A barrier at any moment can interrupt the experience. We investigate these tasks across websites, stores and products; customers may follow different paths.

Attention to beauty.

A love of fragrance and makeup, supported by professional accessibility expertise. We examine the experience with care for your brand and the people who may be unintentionally left out.

Clear decisions.

Your goals guide our beauty accessibility criteria and POUR checks. Documented findings and practical recommendations show what to preserve and what could expand participation.

Progress you can check.

Agreed retesting and measures of task completion, customer effort and product use. Commercial outcomes measured with your data.

Website & checkout

Website & App Accessibility and Customer Journey Assessment

Investigate discovery, product information, forms, cart and checkout through accessibility checks and defined shopping tasks.

Retail experience

Retail Experience Assessment

Examine a defined in-store journey: navigation, displays, product information, sampling, customer service and checkout.

Fragrance & makeup

Fragrance & Makeup Product Accessibility Testing

Two distinct services, shown together: fragrance testing and makeup testing. Each uses product-specific tasks to examine information, packaging, handling and use against your intended experience.

You receive documented findings, evidence limits, practical priorities and an agreed improvement plan; retesting is included when scoped. Product samples are assessed professionally, with no promotional endorsement obligation.

Beyond the first purchase

What is a customer
who returns worth to you?

There is no universal dollar value for a lifetime buyer. Research on a catalog retailer found that long-standing customers were not necessarily profitable. Meaningful measurement considers what customers buy and what it costs to serve them.

  • Cost to serve

Our aim is to investigate barriers to participation and successful use, then help you evaluate the changes. Revenue, retention and belonging require their own evidence.

The purpose behind the work

Ingress + -ible

Preserve the vision.
Open the door wider.

Your identity, aesthetic and story guide the work. We help you understand who may be left out and create more ways to enter, participate and belong.

Thoughtful inclusion begins with understanding people and testing the experience. Changes are reviewed with you, with respect for what makes your brand yours.

The door opens to reveal Ingressible’s logo and the words Access, Capability, Belonging. The doorway represents entering an experience; the light beyond represents the possibility of taking part. Inclusion means considering what people need after they enter, so they can participate and feel welcome.

Beauty is an end-to-end experience

The formula is only one part of what people encounter.

Beauty is discovering a product, understanding it, identifying it, opening it, holding it, controlling it, dispensing it, applying it, purchasing it, and returning to it. It is also the packaging, website, store, information, and interactions around the product.

Every touchpoint can create access. Every touchpoint can also create a barrier.

  1. Discover
  2. Understand
  3. Identify
  4. Open
  5. Control
  6. Use
  7. Experience
  8. Belong

The core promise

Preserve the Vision.
Expand the Experience.

Every brand creates a little world: the curve of a bottle, a shade that catches the light, a fragrance that becomes a memory, the atmosphere of a beautifully imagined store. We begin with the artistry, intention and character that make that world yours.

Then we explore how more people might experience its magic. How someone discovers a scent, identifies a shade, opens a cherished bottle or moves through a shopping journey with confidence and choice.

Thoughtful inclusion makes room for human difference within the beauty you have created. Your signature stays recognizable. Your story finds new ways to reach people. More customers have the opportunity to feel considered, welcomed and part of the experience.

The right to access. The capability to participate. The opportunity to belong.

The Ingressible Assessment

A little curiosity.
A clearer customer experience.

We look closely at how people discover, choose and use what your brand has created. Through agreed website and app, retail, or fragrance and makeup testing, we identify barriers and give your team clear priorities, while preserving the artistry that makes your brand yours.

  1. 01

    Look closer

Agree the customer tasks and test the experience.

  2. 02

    Make sense of it

Document barriers, their impact and what to prioritize.

  3. 03

    Open possibilities

Plan thoughtful improvements and agree any rechecks.

This path shows how an assessment becomes a practical plan: observation leads to evidence, then to decisions your team can make. The magnifying glass, conversation and prototype symbols represent investigation, shared understanding and exploring improvements.
